Mission

To provide as much "useful" information as possible about the world of One Piece. All of the information will be taken from One Piece manga and its accompanying books (Red, Blue, Yellow, and more).

This website focuses more on facts, not the story of One Piece series. We will attempt to present the information in short and concise manner, not in long paragraphs. We will also try to refrain from posting spoilers whenever possible.

At this moment we will focus just on One Piece manga, not the anime or movies.

History

OPDB was founded by teko and choco. It had been in conception for a long time, but the actual website didn't launch before March 5, 2008. The Character Database was based on the now defunct One Piece Character DB website.

The ever mysterious choco started her own One Piece Fansite in Feb 2008. She then invited teko to work together on the fansite. However, after some discussions, they both decided to start a whole new website instead. It is rumored that she enjoys eating fish together with bananas.

teko used to write for Wikipedia on One Piece articles, but found it was too cumbersome. Wikipedia, at the time, had too many strict rules and vandals. A few new articles he wrote on Wikipedia got removed, but some of them now made it into OPDB. One of them is List of Named Swords.

Credits

Chapter Titles and some character names were taken from Stephen's One Piece translations.
